We LOVE our Tenere 700. There’s no way to overstate that emotion. However, there are a few things that can be addressed to make big improvements for long days of aggressive riding. One of those things is the suspension – in this case, a steering stabilizer. Even a properly tuned suspension won’t eliminate lateral deflections. The Yamaha Tenere is generally regarded as a stable platform but it is sensitive to tire changes, rider sag settings, and load variation. If you crave off-road performance but still seek on-road stability, this damper is the answer you’ve been looking for.
This kit is turn-key and includes everything needed for installation. Scotts pioneered the steering stabilizer and their design inspired countless knockoffs on the market. Not only are their stabilizers designed and manufactured in-house by real riders, but they are rebuildable. Try and do that with your eBay knockoffs!
Kit includes:
- Scott’s Off-Road Stabilizer with adjustable high- and low-speed damping as well as sweep and adjustable rebound. If you don’t know what that means, read up on this here. It’s amazing off-road.
- Sub mount assembly (new risers – stock bar height).
- All mounting hardware.
Note: this kit does not work with the Acerbis 6 gallon fuel tank. It is possible to use a heat gun on a completely empty tank (no fumes) to shape for clearance. It’s not rocket science, but it’s not a trivial operation either.
