Description
It’s no secret that Yamaha spent the bulk of their R&D budget on that stonking 847cc triple. Unfortunately, that meant pennies needed to be pinched somewhere. That somewhere is in the suspension. Like the forks, the shock spring is inadequate for riders over 170 lbs in gear. Compression damping is woefully insufficient causing the bike to squat heavily on acceleration. The rebound damping is even worse, and is why the suspension has been accurately compared to a pogo stick.
The K-Tech Razor-R Lite is the most-economical replacement shock on the market and is a great solution to improve the performance and ride quality without breaking the bank. Think of this as a REALLY good stock shock. Compares nicely to a stock remote reservoir shock on most modern sportbikes. If you’re looking for a higher performing shock, we’d recommend either the Penske 8983 or 8987.
Features:
- Rebound damping adjustment
- Spring preload adjustment
